Hey look, a bottle!!
Today, Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai's daily SSB4 picture features a familiar Zelda related item: a fairy in a bottle. The fairy in the bottle will heal damage for fighters. Here's what Sakurai had to say about the picture:
Pic of the day. Hey look, a bottle!! This is a special item that can even heal fighters who have accumulated over 100% damage.
His comment, "can even heal fighters [...] over 100% damage" is a bit ambiguous. The famous heart containers, which have been in each SSB game, heal 100% damage. It seems that the bottled fairy will heal more, but we won't know exactly how much until we get our hands on the game later this year.

Be sure to check back for more Zelda related Smash 4 updates!

Hyrule Hustlers and a small update
I posted a few days ago about the third annual Hyrule Hustlers Zelda marathon, which began yesterday on Valentine's Day. Well the guys are still at it! Right now they're playing Ocarina of Time and are making their way to the Forest Temple. Later today, they'll be playing The Adventure of Link.

Be sure to drop by, and remember to donate! They're raising money for Child's Play Charity and have currently raised $1250. The more people donate, the longer they'll play, so keep them playing!

As for the small update, I've upgraded our Cutenews to Cutenews 2.0. Due to the fact that I was using UTF-8 Cutenews, I couldn't automatically upgrade and had to manually add all the news into the new installation, but it's much better (aside from a few problems posting HTML). I must say, going through all of our news over the years has been a real nostalgia trip. It made me smile, laugh, and cry all at once. It's been very encouraging. As for the new news system, you'll probably notice that news posts now have tags. Go ahead and click one to see what news posts pop up!

CVG Aonuma Interview
Computer and Video Games recently sat down with Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma. They talked about his history at Nintendo, and the games he helped make, as well as (of course) his history with the Zelda franchise.

It's a great and informative look into how Aonuma got to where he is today. Give it a read!

Third Annual Hyrule Hustlers Zelda Marathon
This Valentine's Day, Hyrule Hustlers will be holding their third annual Zelda Marathon to raise money for Child's Play.

The gang will be playing a host of Zelda games starting at 11 AM (EST) on the 14th. The more donations that are made, the longer the marathon will run; unlocking additional hours of playtime. There will also be a few contests and prizes.

So cancel that romantic date you had and sit at home watching a bunch of people play video games. No really. It's for a good cause! (Don't forget to donate!)

New Zelda Miiverse Communities
Miiverse is full of fun content. All the way from great, incredibly detailed artwork, to gems like this. Miiverse is a great medium in which fans can showcase their love for the games they hold so dear to their heart.

A few days ago (I know, I'm a bit late), Nintendo of Europe announced the addition of five new 3DS Miiverse Communities for VC Zelda games. The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, Link's Awakening DX, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Seasons.

ALBW Metal Keychain Set
A new picture recently surfaced, advertising a new A Link Between Worlds themed key chain set. The set is being made by Bandai, and is apparently coming out in May.

The keychain set is similar to one released for Skyward Sword a while back. This set will feature, as you can see from the image, five different keychains: Link, Zelda, Hyrule/Lorule Triforces, the Master Sword on its pedestal, and a wall with Link (in painting form) on it.
